Bologna, Italy II
This striking and detailed cityscape wall art of Bologna in northern Italy draws in the eye.
It’s based on a photograph I took when I visited the so-called red city. It shows people out and about on one of the wide walkways, leading toward the tall, imposing Asinelli Tower or the Torre Degli Asinelli in Italian.
I was lucky enough to ascend the almost 500 steps to the top and was rewarded with a fantastic view.
This medieval structure dates back to the 11th century. Along with the Garisenda Tower (though not as tall or in view here) they are also 'leaning towers'. However, the two towers of Bologna are not quite as famous as a certain structure in Pisa.
