Elephants on Parade
Another one of my fantastic linocut art prints, Elephants on Parade is inspired by the original Dumbo movie.
It is a trippy art piece that through expertly crafted linework, demands the viewers attention.
Based on the strange Dumbo pink elephants song, the artwork shows the elephants all blowing their trumpets with small and large bubbles surrounding.
In the sequence a bottle of booze falls into a water bucket, which Dumbo and Timothy Mouse unwittingly drink. They both in turn get drunk and Dumbo bizarrely begins blowing bubbles from his trunk, then a bubble takes on elephant form and so begins the trippy sequence.
At any cost, the meaning of the famous Disney sequence has always been unclear and shrouded in mystery. The artwork brings into focus and is a meditation on this mystery, as well as a celebration of the genius of Walt Disney.
